The Ministry of Gender Equality, Poverty Eradication, and Social Welfare, together with the Ministry of Education, Arts and Culture, and the Ministry of Health and Social Services, is proud to introduce you to the Right Start National Campaign on Early Childhood Development (ECD).  This Campaign aims to raise awareness about the importance of nurturing care in the early years of a child’s life. The campaign slogan ‘Make A Child’s First Steps, The Right Steps”, is designed to remind everyone who is responsible for the early years of a child’s life just how important those early years are for children. This site helps everyone from parents, teachers, caregivers, future parents, and all people who help raise our children to find out more about how to raise children in the best possible way.

The campaign focuses on five important pillars of Early Childhood Development, namely:
The campaign is fully aligned with national legislation that protects children’s rights and interests. This is how we all make every Namibian child’s first steps, the right steps. When we talk about the early years of a child’s life, this is what we are referring to:
